Xiaomi has introduced their new smartphone redmi y2 which is stylish, sleek and many more. Redmi y2 was launched targeting the youth and midranges peoples. The Redmi y2 will be available on both online and offline stores. In online it will exclusively available on amazon.com and mi.com from June 12. In offline you can get this smartphone at mi home stores. The price of Redmi y2 is Rs.9,999 for 3GB ram and 32GB storage variant and Rs.12,999 for the 4GB Ram and 64GB variant. It will be available in Rose gold, Elegant gold and dark grey colour option.

REDMI Y2 DESIGN-

The Redmi y2 almost looks like a mini version of Redmi note 5 pro. The Redmi y2 has 18:9 aspect ratio display panel. It weights is around 170g, which is quite heavy. It has a power button and a volume rocker on the right side. In the left side, you get a triple slot tray, two for sim and another one for dedicated microSD card. The 3.5mm audio jack is placed on the top. In the bottom, you will get the micro USB port and a speaker grill. The curve sides of Redmi y2 gives a good grip on your hands. Overall Redmi y2 looks neat and premium and it is quite comfortable to carry.

Coming to display section, Redmi y2 comes with 5.99 inches IPS LCD large display with 1440x720 pixel resolution in 18:9 aspect ratio. Thankfully there is no notch in Redmi y2. On top of the display, Redmi y2 has the selfie camera,  earpiece and the essential sensors on the top edge. Unfortunately, the resolution of Redmi y2 has not improved much. It is now HD instead of Full HD+, but the main change is that the display is taller now. The display panel has good brightness, contrast and colour reproduction too. Overall there is no complaint about display section except the resolution.

 The most highlighted features of Redmi y2 is its camera. Redmi y2 features dual camera setup in the rear. The dual setup is totally inspired by Redmi note 5 pro. It has 12+5MP with aperture f/2.2 in the rear. The 12MP is the main sensor whereas the 5MP will capture the depth effect. It also has HDR support and full HD recording support. To take selfies, Redmi y2 comes with 16MP front-facing camera. The Redmi y2 has LED flash on both front and rear camera. As it is a selfie-focused phone, the front camera performs awesome. The photos were taken by rear cameras are great in daylight and the depth effect is fantastic. Overall there is no complaint from me on the camera section of Redmi y2.

REDMI Y2 ANDROID AND SOFTWARE-

The Redmi y2 runs with android 8.1 oreo out of the box. In software section, Redmi y2 runs with xiaomi's own MiUi 9.5 user interface based on latest Android 8.1. The Redmi y2 has lots of features like the dual app, one hand mode, face unlock, gesture navigation, reading mode and many more. Xiaomi has made lots of customization option in Redmi y2. The company has made many resources in building out features. There are lots of additional apps in Redmi y2 like Amazon, Facebook, phonepe, newspoint etc. Overall in the software section, Redmi y2 is quite good.

REDMI Y2 BATTERY-
The Redmi y2 packs with 3080mAh battery as also in Mi A1. It is expected that 3080mAh battery will last for a day with light usage. It will last for a day for the heavy users. The main drawback is that it doesn't have any fast charging support so it will take you around 2 hours 45 minutes to charge from 0 to 100%. Overall, in battery department Redmi y2 is good. 

REDMI Y2 PERFORMANCE-

The Redmi y2 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 coupled with Adreno 506 GPU and CPU octa-core 2.0GHz Cortex-A53. The Redmi y2 heats up quite on playing high intensive games. It has 3GB and 4GB Ram with 32GB and 64GB storage respectively and for further storage expansion, you can add a microSD card. Redmi y2 connectivity option includes 4G volte, wi-fi, Bluetooth 4.2. Overall in the performance department, Redmi y2 is very good.

At the price of Rs.9,999, the Redmi y2 seems to be a compelling option for selfie lovers. There is no doubt that Redmi y2 is a good phone at the price of Rs.9,999. It has good software, hardware, good camera at a price of Rs.9,999 and it is worth to buy this smartphone.
